Rochester organizations receive $50K grants to support violence prevention programs

There's a new effort to curb violence and restore peace in the city. Tuesday, state Sen. Jeremy Cooney announced a pair of grants designed to support violence prevention programs. $50,000 is being given to both Rise Up Rochester and Action for a Better Community's (ABC) "Save Our Youth" program. The organizations will use the money to further help victims of violence and their families, and steer younger generations away from crime.
