Adult Education Services
What is
AES?
The Adult Education Services (AES) program is designed to facilitate the attainment of an NYS High School equivalency diploma (HSE). The HSE diploma will in turn open doors to higher education, specific skill certifications, all leading to better work opportunities and, self-sufficiency. We offer four pathways to the HSE: GED, NEDP, (National External Diploma Program), Regents, or through 24 hours of college credit.
AES offers Math, Science, Social Studies, RLA or Reading/Language Arts, and Computer Literacy to adults aged eighteen to sixty-seven. We provide in-person instruction and distance learning and have a dedicated case manager.
New Americans can also take advantage of AES' educational services. All students are assessed with the TABE CLAS–E, which is used to determine the language proficiency of adult English language learners in the areas of reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
