Dear Rodney:

I am writing to you today to tell you about the positive experience I recently had with a few of your workers from ABC. I am a home owner over in the South Wedge who has battled a lifelong disease of Cystic Fibrosis. In November of ’09, I was diagnosed with a complication of CF, called MAC. This has required hospital stays, and intense home therapy which has made working more difficult and has lead to physical and financial difficulties. I heard about your program from Chris Raymond at Pathstone. He suggested I go apply for the Weatherization Program, as there was very little insulation in my home and the furnace was estimated to be over 40 years old and only about 60% efficient. As I am still undergoing treatments and am uncertain of what the future will bring at this point, I was in a place where I needed help winterizing my home. I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the program and thus am a recipient of a new furnace and weatherization of my home.

There was some scheduling difficulty and confusion as to exactly what was to be done and when, but once your workers made it out to my home they were friendly, helpful, and informative. I do not remember the name of the man who installed the actual furnace, but my hope is that this can be found after looking at my file. He was helpful, courteous, and punctual and got the job done well and quickly.

Three of your workers that went above and beyond were Terry Holmes, Darrell Laurant, and Jabari Palmer. These men came to my house and did the weatherization piece of things. They were not only courteous and respectful; they showed genuine concern for my health, taking the time to do extra sealing and taping to help limit my exposure to the fumes of the process. I explained to them that I had breathing difficulties due to CF before they began working. Terry also went out of his way to share extra tips with me on how to do a few extra things to help my RG&E bill. These workers were kind and trustworthy and I am encouraged to know that they are out there doing this kind of work in our community.

I am incredibly grateful for your company’s assistance during this challenging time.

Sincerely yours,

Kori Tolbert
