Signature Awards

 

Action for a Better Community, Inc. plans to honor three outstanding individuals at our Signature Conference Breakfast on January 26, 2023, for their advocacy and commitment to reducing poverty. There are three prestigious awards that will be given during the award ceremony to volunteers.

Let us know who you would like to honor by nominating three community members. You can find a brief description of each award, along with links to the nomination forms, below. Review the award criteria and select one or more people who meet the criteria.

Each award is unique and embodies the qualities the recipient is expected to embody.

The Signature Citizen of the Year Award was launched in 2001 to give special recognition to a community member who, through professional work and volunteerism, has helped to improve the quality of life for people in our community. The James M. McCuller Award for Excellence, first given in 1994, was created to recognize individuals who exemplify the attributes demonstrated by the late James McCuller, ABC Executive Director. He believed in constantly striving to improve himself and those he served. Click HERE to submit a nomination for the James M. McCuller Award for Excellence.

The Lena M. Gantt Distinguished Community Service Award was established in 1984. It was presented to honor an individual whose record of dedicated community service most closely reflects the life work of Lena M. Gantt a devoted community advocate.
