Focus on Self-Sufficiency Program

 

Family Self-Sufficiency - FSSP classes start the 1st Monday of each Month (4 weeks) 9:00 am - 3:00 pm daily

This 4-week training session is focused on removing employment barriers and providing the tools needed for long-term sustainable self-sufficiency. This session also includes the 3 week Job Readiness Training.

The commitment includes: 

Personalized assessment scaling tool

Complete a personalized action plan

Attending daily self-sufficiency sessions facilitated by trained and qualified staff

Working on self-identified goals with staff and peers

Increasing knowledge of life skills

Developing work experience through internships and volunteer services

Alison.com certificates

HSE (High School Equivalency) tutorial and post-secondary support

 

 

Job Readiness Training - JRT classes start the 1st Monday of each Month (3 weeks) 9 am - 12 pm daily

This 3-week training session assists participants with preparing a resume, cover letter, job search techniques and other employment skills.

 

TASC Preparation classes Monday – Friday 9:00 am -12:30 pm

This is an on-going service designed to prepare participants to achieve the ORT score that qualifies you to set for the Test Accessing Secondary Completion. (TASC)

*We now offer the computerized NYS TASC test the last Friday of each month. Limited seating call to reserve.

 

One to One coaching session by appointment only

Coaching is designed to assist participants with issues of career exploration, career change, and personal career development and provide referrals for employment.

 

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)

Saturdays,  January – April (9:00 am – 2:00 pm) walk-ins welcome

C.A.S.H. [Creating Assets, Savings and Hope] operates free, high quality tax preparation sites throughout Monroe County.   IRS Certified Volunteers prepare and electronically file federal and NYS tax returns for free for income eligible persons.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. TOTAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME UNDER $55,000 FOR FAMILIES W/CHILDREN $40,000 OR LESS FOR WORKERS W/O CHILDREN

Bring with you- picture IDs for you and spouse

SOCIAL SECURITY CARD AND BIRTH-DATES FOR EACH FAMILY MEMBER

W2 forms for all jobs worked

All 1099 forms that you received

Childcare provider’s name, address, and tax id number
