AIDS and HIV infection continue to be a major health concern particularly within the
African-American and Hispanic communities where the rates of infection are still
increasing. AFC programs include outreach, education, counseling, case management,
advocacy, prison outreach, HIV testing, support groups for affected populations, as well
as programs that seek to keep youth safe and the community well-informed. One of AFC's
newest programs is a rapidly growing support group for children of infected adults. As
rates of infection have increased, ABC's AFC has aggressively and compassionately sought
to comfort those who are infected and to educate those who are not. (top)
