The Signature Citizen of the Year Award was launched in 2001 to give special recognition to a community member who, through professional work and volunteerism, has fostered opportunities that help improve the quality of life for people in our community.

We are pleased to announce that this year's Signature Citizen of the Year Award winner is Thomas Ferraro, Executive Director and Founder of Foodlink. Mr. Ferraro's contributions to the community has focused on ensuring that individuals have access to nutritious food and are empowered with tangible skills to lead healthy and productive lives.  His work to establish Feeding America and his fellow New York State food banks has a legacy that reaches far beyond the counties within Foodlink's service area. For the past 35 years under his leadership, Foodlink has provided food, education, and advocacy to address the issue of hunger in New York State. Click here for biography.

The James M. McCuller Award for Excellence first given in 1994, was created to recognize individuals who exemplify the attributes demonstrated by the late James McCuller, former ABC Executive Director.  He believed in constantly striving to improve himself and those he served.
