Description of Services: Pre- release social skills development workshops for incarcerated youth; A series of life skills/social skills development classes for youth and young adults who seek denouncement from gang association; conflict resolution; street outreach for targeted gang members in need of intervention/prevention services; financial literacy and budget workshops to help cope with the stress of converting from illegitimate money-making to legitimate financial income; Social work-ethic skills training to prepare for effectiveness in the working world.
Target Population / Eligibility Criteria: Milestones targets youth ages 14 to 21 years old who are at-risk or experiencing street cultural issues and/or are in the juvenile justice system, and who either voluntarily or by mandate participate in the program. Youth of all socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds are eligible for the program. Milestones is not geared to serve youth who commit Class A felonies or sex offenses.
Hours of Operation and Service Delivery: Milestones delivers its services in transitional classrooms and workshops settings. Classes are Monday through Friday between the hours of 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm
