Position: Education/Disability Resource Specialist
Hours: 37.5/wk, 48 wks/year
Summary of Responsibilities:
To facilitate the implementation of a high quality early childhood education and disabilities services component in the Head Start/Early Head Start program through mentoring, coaching, training and technical assistance to Head Start/Early Head Start staff.
Qualifications/Education and Experience:
v BS degree in Early Childhood Education, coursework to include infant and toddler as well as preschool and special education. Certification in Birth to grade two preferred
v One to three years teaching experience with infants, toddlers and preschool children and some experience training adults.
v Requires knowledge regarding early childhood development and adult education.
v Requires administrative, analytical, evaluative and oral and written communication skills, and the ability to train and motivate people.
v Requires the health and physical capability to work in a typical office and/or classroom environment.
v Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products.
v Requires a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
v Ability to receive clearance from the NY State Central Registry and Criminal background checks
v Ability to pass bi-annual physical exam
