Summary of Responsibilities:


To perform a wide variety of complex and confidential clerical and administrative duties in support of the Business Service Office. Organizes office operations and procedures in an expeditious manner, and supervises administrative projects. Plans and implements office systems and improves the efficiency and effectiveness of office operations.  The BSO Assistant is primarily responsible for providing support to the Purchasing Coordinator as they relate to the business of purchasing.  Perform data-entry operations to Facility Wizard spreadsheets, and Barscan.  Assist the Purchasing Coordinator with the agencies fixed asset inventory operations and also serves as primary backup support to the Receptionist.


Qualifications/Education and Experience:


v  Associates Degree in Secretarial Science or the equivalent combination of education and experience including the use of a personal computer and applicable software.

v  Three to five years of secretarial/administrative assistant experience.

v  Requires an extensive working level knowledge of secretarial/administrative functions; including data entry, typing, filing and business administration and mathematics functions.

v  Requires administrative, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational, planning, problem solving and oral and written communications skills; and an aptitude for directing and training people.

v  Ability to deal with people at all organizational levels, both internal and external; attention to details; and good administrative, organizational, planning, oral, and written communication skills.

v  Requires intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

v  Requires the health and physical capability to work in an office environment.

v  Must possess and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
