Summary of Responsibilities:

The individual in this position is responsible for overall management and operations of ABC’s AFC. Ensures planning is accomplished to achieve current and future program goals and objectives. Establishes and maintains necessary links in the local community and statewide organizations concerned with HIV/AIDS, government organizations, other community leaders, and program funding sources. Provides HIV/AIDS related leadership, advocacy, and builds community coalitions. Promotes the ABC AFC, HIV/AIDS awareness, and the needs of program constituents. Delivers HIV/AIDS related workshops, and provides training and technical assistance to program staff. develops, manages, and monitors all program outcomes and budgets. Works collaboratively with delegate agencies as necessary.


Qualifications/Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in a related field with five years’ experience in management and supervisory position
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS issues and community needs
  • Requires the ability to work with diverse populations
  • Strong grant-writing skills
  • Must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Must be proficient in or have demonstrated ability to achieve proficiency in Word, Outlook, and AIRS computer programs; working knowledge of Excel, and Publisher preferred.
  • Ability to receive clearance from NYS Department of Corrections
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.
