ABC is driven to provide service of the highest Quality! ABC has a dedicated staff which provides support and technical assistance to programs and administration in order to ensure achievement of the agency's mission. Our planning and evaluation staff provides exemplary leadership in planning, monitoring, and evaluation of our programs.
Families Served
21,941 persons and 4,611 families served, benefiting from the multiple programs and services offered through ABC
Training and Pre-Employment
274 individuals received training certificates and obtained pre-employment skills and competencies required for employment through ABC's job services programs
Permanent Employment
228 individuals obtained permanent employment with ABC's help, 45 individuals obtained short-term employment and 11 individuals achieved living wage employment with benefits, with 7 households experiencing an increase in annual income as a result of earnings
New Jobs
ABC (through its Ontario County partner, PathStone) helped create 11 new jobs in Ontario County
Obtaining Food
ABC (through its Ontario County partner, Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes) helped 70 individuals obtain food assistance to prevent barriers to continuous employment
Income tax Preparation
181 individuals received income tax preparation assistance which resulted in tax refunds that generated $163,225 in the community
Weatherization and Energy Conservation
146 families benefited from weatherization and energy conservation services ensuring they access safe and affordable energy to maintain comfortable living standards. 118 of these households reduced their energy costs
Volunteer Connection
Led by ABC, low-income individuals provided 68,155 volunteer hours in their communities for a combined total of 79,581 volunteers hours in this year alone, touching the lives of so many of our neighbors
Community Activities
ABC helped empower 874 individuals to engage in non-governance community activities
Acquired Businesses
18 individuals acquired businesses in Ontario County
Partnerships
ABC facilitated the establishment of over 190 partnerships with other public and private entities to mobilize and leverage resources to provide a wide-range of much needed services to low-income people
Community Service
ABC ensures its staff and board leaders get the training they need to do their best to serve the community. 10,607 hours of staff training and 24 hours devoted to board training ensure knowledgeable and energized staff and leaders do their best for the individuals they serve
Children and Health
ABC helps children grow-up healthy! 1,456 children are now up-to-date on all possible immunizations, medical and dental care. 345 Ontario County children experienced improved nutrition as a result of receiving free meals during the summer. 31 families learned and exhibited improved family functioning skills by participating in ABC’s programs
Education
Education is key for children in our neighborhoods. 1,105 children participated in pre-school activities to develop school readiness skills, with ABC helping to prepare 770 children developmentally ready to enter kindergarten
Youth Intervention
Youth are an important focus. 8 youth reduced their involvement with the criminal justice system, with ABC at their side. 99 youth participated in violence/gang prevention workshops and, based on violence gang presentations, 89 increased their knowledge to help them make the right choices
Healthcare
ABC recognizes that good healthcare should have no boundaries. 87 inmates in correctional facilities were trained as peer educators about HIV/AID and 85 youth and 932 adults received HIV/AIDS testing that could lead them to the assistance they might need. 14 individuals successfully completed ABC's alcohol and substance abuse treatment program
