In 2002, the ABC Foundation was created to support the community services provided by Action for a Better Community, Inc. Private foundations, corporations, and individual donors provide funding support to the ABC Foundation, knowing that 85% of every donation dollar is committed to direct program delivery to immediately benefit the customers we serve.
Building New Beginnings
Action for a Better Community is in the business of helping low income individuals and families overcome the obstacles standing between them and greater self-sufficiency. The need is compelling. Did you know that in 2010, ABC, Inc., brought in $22 million of federal funding support with the sole purpose of directly assisting our customers to achieve successful outcomes? But that's only half the story. With continuing and looming budget cuts, community participation is evermore critical. Your donation dollars go even further to leverage public support. As we compete for federal funds, we are required to demonstrate that our communities support the important work ABC does. Your donation ensures that we meet these requirements, and sends a strong message to our legislators that our programs work! We reach out to you, asking for your partnership.
